All Systems Go
The fifth day of stem cell collection (Friday) was fruitful enough to provide the hospital with all Lorelei should need for her bone marrow transplant. This is a big relief because if it had not been enough, we were informed they would have to start the whole process again. So glad they got enough!
So, Lorelei will check in as planned at the transplant unit at OU Medical Center Friday morning at 8:30. She's not looking forward to the difficult chemo but is very ready to put this cancer into remission. Four weeks of isolation will be worth it to return Lorelei to her naturally social self. These past nine months have really cramped her style!
There's a big thing happening this Thursday (Oct 18) that is so exciting it is keeping Lorelei's mind off what will follow the next day. It's a secret for now. Without leaking the whole story, I will just say a Learjet is involved! Stay tuned.
Also, if you haven't seen it, Lorelei's PSA for the Walk for Wishes at the Zoo November 3 is up and running on TV now. You can watch it here: http://vimeo.com/51357146
