Cancer's not contagious but you might want to think twice before joining the PCN girls gol

Lorelei loves to golf.  But even more than golfing, Lorelei loves her golf coach, Tom Jedlicka.  Everybody calls him Coach Jed.  And everybody loves him.

Lorelei was honored to be selected as a golf co-captain for her senior year. We joke that she's probably the worst golfer ever to hold the title in the history of North, but there's never been another girl who loves the sport or her team or coach more.

In fact, when Lorelei learned she had cancer, the first person at North she told was Coach Jed.   Knowing coach Jed had fought his own battle with cancer and knowing he's never pulled any punches with her, she hoped he could share some of his wisdom.  As he always has been, Coach Jed was encouraging.  He didn't dismiss her with an easy pat answer or some pie in the sky picture of what her next few months will be like.  But he also didn't cut her any slack.  In fact, he encouraged her to play in as many tournaments as she could.  He told her there'd be a spot for her in each and every one.  He scheduled her to play in their very first one in Guthrie on March 1.  She played all 18 holes and shot 117. She figures that's a 99 if you give her a "cancer stroke" on each hole!

It was Coach Jed who warned Lorelei her straight blonde hair might grow back a different color and/or texture.  He predicted she may even end up with a 'fro!  We'll see.  That would be funny.

Anyway, Coach Jed has been on Lorelei's mind a lot lately.  She'd appreciate if when you pray for her you also pray for him and his family. He's experienced a reoccurrence of his cancer (it has spread) and it looks like he and Lorelei will both be going through chemo at the same time.

This Lorelei's verse for Jed:

"The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still."
Exodus 14:14
