Well, of course we again fell on the short side of the 60%/40% odds of getting the 5 million stem cells needed for Lorelei's bone marrow transplant. (They only collected one million.) So, poor sweet Hannah gets to repeat the process again today. I'm sure I jinxed it by packing my suitcase this morning with optimism we'd be catching a flight home to OKC tonight. ;)
I feel bad for Hannah because the side effects of the Neupogen have kept her from sleeping for several days. Her potassium levels are low and this has caused her heart to PVC quite a bit. Please pray she's able to rest tonight. And please pray we are able to catch a standby flight with Southwest once they have collected enough. Spring break travelers may affect our odds to find a flight home. (Hannah really needs to get home to see Georgie and Ellie and get her puppy fix before returning to St. Louis.) All in all, Hannah still claims this has been her best spring break ever. (Not sure what that says about us as parents who have apparently not set that spring break bar very high.)
Hannah will begin aphoresis at 1:00 today. Please pray today's collection gets the 4 million more stem cells needed. And if not, that we can schedule Hannah to get a central line since her peripheral veins are already shot.
