Praise God for the fever!
If Lorelei had not had this 103 degree fever she would not have needed today's chest x-ray. Today's x-ray shows a tiny pneumonia in her lower right lobe. (We can deal with that.) But the most beautiful thing about this X-ray is how encouraging it has been for Lorelei. She had been prepared to live with the scar tissue of the dead tumor for the rest of her life. (Nodular Sclerosing Hodgkins Lymphoma does that.) But looking at today's x-ray, we can't even see the tumor at all! It's the best news Lorelei has ever received and has encouraged her to be more tolerant of the boringness of hospital confinement; the treatment is working! We're calling it a miracle.
Now all we need is healing from the pneumonia. They are giving her high power antibiotics and platelets. (Fevers eat platelets.) Lorelei's fever came down to 102.7 after taking two tylenol. (We think it had spiked even higher than the earlier 103.1 before taking the tylenol because she was shivering like crazy.) They have given her two more tylenol to bring it down to a level that is a little more comfortable for her.
