The Body of Christ is beautiful
The Body of Christ is a beautiful thing. Eighteen months ago Lorelei was showered with a "Hat Party" by her sisters in Christ (mostly from Cherokee Hills Baptist Church and Council Road Baptist Church) just before she lost her hair. This picture was taken that day. Lorelei dislikes the photo because it documents how very sick she was back then--her face is puffy from chemo and steroids. But she gave me permission to post it anyway. She's come so far in this battle with cancer. People have come and gone. But the one constant has been an undeniable blessing from God. Not a day has gone by that she hasn't experienced the peace of God from the covering of prayer. Thank you.
And the world just seems to get smaller. In our pursuit of affordable housing here in Houston for when Lorelei moves from inpatient to outpatient we have been introduced to fellow believers from Second Baptist Church. They have committed to help us find housing and that burden has been totally lifted. Interestingly enough, the student pastor (Eric Hystad) at Second Baptist grew up in Lorelei's home church Cherokee Hills Baptist Church. I love it when God brings things full circle like that!
